Core Values
We are a church committed to walking with God in his Mission to redeem all creation.
Our life together is shaped by a few core values that guide how we gather, how we relate to one another, and how we show up in our city.
-
We believe that Scripture is the divine, inspired word of God that was given to man for the purpose of orienting our lives around the teachings found within the Bible. We believe ALL Scripture is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training the saints for the work of the ministry. To truly know scripture means to communicate the heart and truth of scripture, even when it hurts. (2 Tim 3:16-17, Eph. 4:12)
-
We believe that we are created in the image of a generous, loving, and self-giving God, who calls us to be the same. We live this out by being generous with ALL our resources to the local church, local & world missions, and by responding to the prompting of the Holy Spirit so that none may have lack. (Gen 1:26, Acts 4:34, 1 John 3:17, Gal 6:2, Heb. 13:16, James 1:27)s here
-
We believe that God has designed the church to be a multigenerational, multicultural, covenant community not formed by preferential groups. This means we share in each other's joys, hurts, disappointments, pain, and healing. We live this out by holding to the disciplines of the early church - praying together, studying scripture, discipling one another, confessing and repenting to one another, and building each other up in fellowship. (1 Cor 12:27, Gal 6:2, James 5:16)
-
We believe that God is worthy of worship in every aspect of our lives. This can take shape in both a congregational church setting and an individual setting. We believe that worship is an encounter with God—one that consists of an accurate view of Him (He is holy and worthy of worship), an accurate view of ourselves (we are broken and in need of a Savior), experiencing grace (accepting and remembering the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus), and being invited to participate in His purposes. (Isaiah 6, Romans 12:1, James 1:27)

Our Story
The Garden began as a small group of people longing for a church rooted in presence, hospitality, and shared life.
What started in living rooms has grown into a community walking together in faith — learning to follow Jesus in everyday life and preparing to take root more fully in Oakdale.
We are committed to walking with God in His mission to redeem all creation, practicing faith that is relational, grounded in scripture, and shaped by love of neighbor.
As we continue to grow, our hope is to cultivate a church rooted in Oakdale that reflects the love, justice, and grace of Jesus.
